Common Gull – WeBS 2021-22

Larus canus – GWYLAN Y GWEUNYDD – Winter visitor

Updates to the Wetland Bird Survey counts for this season.

The large count in January 2021 comprised 22 birds on the Cleddau Estuary, 680 on the Teifi and 410 on the Nevern Estuary. It is possible that the birds on the Cleddau and Teifi were commuting between the two sites, but there did seem to be a lot of common gulls around at that time:

There was also a minimum of 433 common gulls off Amroth in February 2021, but this is not a WeBS site.
